How to setup CP3D

Windows setup

See MacOS setup.

First, download the .rar file (the unextracted game files) in a location where you can easily find the game folder.

Once the file has been downloaded, extract it using Winrar or 7zip. Here, we use Winrar.
We suggest you to use "Extract to CP3D (Version X.X.X.X). However, you can also use extract here.

You should now have a folder like this.

Open the folder, and double click on "Launcher.exe".

The launcher will download the latest version of the game. This can take some time.

Once the game files are downloaded, the launcher will start the patching process. You'll know when the patching process begins when the launcher says "now patching". This can take some time. Once the patching process is finished, you will have the option to play the game or exit the launcher. Click the play button to launch CP3D.
You will have to open launcher.exe everytime you want to play CP3D. This will keep your game up to date. When a new version is available, the launcher will automatically download and patch the game. This operation will take some time. Do not move any files inside the CP3D folder to prevent patching issues.

MacOS setup

See Windows setup.

Download the latest Mac version of CP3D. Once downloaded, extract the zip archive such that you have the following.

Open the Terminal in the Mac. To do that click the search icon and type Terminal.

Type the following commands in Terminal and press enter, as shown below.

" xattr -d com.apple.quarantine “Downloads/CCP3D/Launcher.app
" chmod +x “Downloads/CP3D/Launcher.app/Contents/MacOS/*

If the above commands don’t work, please try entering this command.

" xattr -d com.apple.quarantine Downloads/CP3D/Launcher.app "
" chmod +x Downloads/CP3D/Launcher.app/Contents/MacOS/* "

Note: Downloads/CP3D/Launcher.app is the path to the Launcher application. Downloads are normally saved to this location, so this command should always work.
If it doesn’t, ensure this is the valid path by moving the extracted folder (CP3D) to this location (Downloads), or changing the path in the terminal.

You can now open the Launcher without any issues.

Allow the Launcher to complete the file checks (or update if there is one). Once finished, the “LAUNCH” button will appear for you to click. Clicking this will start up Club Penguin 3D.
